Bulk Email

How bulk email marketing works

Send the same email to hundreds or thousands of contacts at once — promotions, announcements, newsletters. Here's everything you need to know to get started.

What is bulk email?

Bulk email (also called mass email or email blasting) means sending a single email message to a large list of recipients at the same time. Instead of writing to each person individually, you compose your message once and MailFella delivers it to everyone on your list.

Businesses use bulk email to send promotional offers, newsletters, product announcements, and seasonal campaigns. It's one of the most cost-effective ways to reach your customers directly.

Good to know: With MailFella you send through your own Gmail or SMTP account — so emails come from your real address, not a shared pool. This means better deliverability and higher trust from recipients.

How it works in MailFella

Sending a bulk email campaign with MailFella takes three steps:

  • 1
Connect your sender account Add your Gmail (or any SMTP account) as a sender. MailFella uses your own email address to send, so recipients see your real identity. You can add multiple sender accounts to rotate sending and stay within daily limits.
  • 2
Build your recipient list Upload your own contact list, or use our browser extension to collect emails as you browse business directories. Contacts are organized into categories so you can target specific groups.
  • 3
Write and send your campaign Pick a template, write your message, and hit send. MailFella delivers the email to your entire list. You can track opens and clicks in real time.

Sending limits explained

Because MailFella sends through your own email account, you're working within the limits of your email provider — not ours. Here's what that means in practice:

  • !
Gmail free accounts Up to 500 emails per day. Enough for small campaigns and local business outreach.
  • Google Workspace (paid Gmail) Up to 2,000 emails per day. Ideal for regular campaigns to larger lists.
  • Multiple sender accounts Add several Gmail accounts in MailFella and the system rotates between them — multiply your daily limit accordingly.
Tip: If you need to send to a list of 1,000 contacts, simply add two Gmail accounts as senders and MailFella will spread the load between them automatically.

Tips for better results

  • Keep your subject line short and specific Under 50 characters. "50% off this weekend only" beats "Our latest newsletter".
  • Send to targeted lists, not everyone An email about restaurant software sent only to restaurant owners will always outperform a generic blast. Use categories to keep your lists organized.
  • Send at the right time Tuesday–Thursday mornings (9–11am) tend to get the highest open rates for B2B emails. Avoid Mondays and Friday afternoons.
  • Always include an unsubscribe option It's good practice and required in most countries. MailFella templates include an unsubscribe footer by default.

Common questions

Is bulk email the same as spam?

No — spam is unsolicited email sent to people who never asked for it. Bulk email is simply sending one message to many people at once. The key difference is relevance and permission. If you're emailing local businesses about a relevant service, that's legitimate outreach, not spam.

Do I need technical knowledge to send bulk email?

No. MailFella is designed to be used by anyone. You connect your Gmail account (takes 2 minutes), upload or collect your contact list, write your email, and send. No coding, no servers, no complicated setup.

What's the difference between MailFella and Mailchimp?

Mailchimp manages its own sending infrastructure and charges based on list size. MailFella sends through your own Gmail or SMTP, so you control the sending — and the cost is one flat monthly fee regardless of how many contacts you have.

Can I personalize bulk emails?

Yes. You can include the recipient's name, company, or other fields in the email body. MailFella supports simple personalization variables so each email feels individual even when sent to thousands.
